My expertise includes not only music topics but anthropology, technology studies, and Turkish studies disciplines. I primarily work on issues surrounding sound recording technology, transformations to traditional musical practices in Turkey, and new genres of electro-acoustic musics. My MA thesis (Wesleyan University 1997) considered online communities and the consumption and production of ambient music.
