: Thanks for the tips Aleta. Although much has been written on Paradigms, I discovered in my studies a completely different perspective. I'll just mention that under my user page about the article I wrote. I am now starting to work on other atricles as well, it's fun  --[[User:Lando Leonhardt Lehmann|Lando Leonhardt Lehmann]] 21:24, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Welcome!

Citizendium Getting Started
Quick Start | About us | Help system | Start a new article | For Wikipedians

Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! J. Noel Chiappa 15:58, 7 April 2008 (CDT)

Sorry! Left the wrong kind of welcome message the first time I tried to do that... J. Noel Chiappa 00:26, 19 April 2008 (CDT)

Becoming a religion editor?

Hello! Welcome to the project. May I suggest that you apply to become an Editor (i.e. someone who can approve well-done versions of articles) in the Religion area? We need them, and you appear to have (or be getting) the professional qualifications in the area that Citizendium wants to see in its Editors. J. Noel Chiappa 10:08, 7 April 2008 (CDT)

Thanks for the welcome Noel. I will apply. --Lando Leonhardt Lehmann 15:26, 7 April 2008 (CDT)

Using one's own work

Hi Lando

Re your recent question to Noel, naturally I can't comment on specific subject matter, but in general, I think common sense should prevail (shouldn't it always)? Larry and others have said to me (and I'm paraphrasing here) that while in general you should look for other people's work to cite, if you're well-known in a subject area for having done ground-breaking work, if for example you're the only person doing your kind of work (i.e. nothing else [much] published on the subject), if a reasonable person would conclude that your work is legitimately published (not fringe or self-aggrandising) these sorts of things are reasons you could cite your own work.

I think it's a judgement call as to whether you're being self-promoting or not. So use your best judgement. If you get it wrong, others will tell you, I'm sure ;)

Regards, and get cracking with those articles!

Thanks for the tips Aleta. Although much has been written on Paradigms, I discovered in my studies a completely different perspective.
