:Many different kinds of reference sources exist, but none are like this. 'The Citizendium' is designed from the ground up, intended to bridge the realm between average people with specialized or general knowledge and those who are knowledgable experts in a specific field. It is primarly about participation; connecting those who have a desire to push the availability of knowledge to all audiences: the rich, the poor, the povert, the wise, the schooled, and the amateur. But we understand that this cannot be accomplished blindly and with reckless abandon; it is about establishing yourself in a sea of authors and editors to whom you have a common interest with. Are you a rocket scientist? Are you a civil engineer? Did you earn a Nobel Prize? Are you a librarian, or a home maker?
