Not as yet knowing its other originating factors, however, it is impossible to state with certainty that it is in the [[public domain]]. [[The Nobel Foundation]] claims [[copyright]] over this image on their website;[http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/1910/waals-bio.html] however, upon direct query they stated they did not actually know who holds the copyright ([[Image_talk:Johannes Diderik van der Waals.jpg/Permission|see correspondence]]).
