The most destructive war in human history, a worldwide conflict that began in the early 1930's and ended in 1945, with estimated battle deaths of 15 million and over 38 million civilians killed.  It including the [[Holocaust]] which began in the early 1930's and the [[Second Sino-Japanese War|invasion of China by Japan]] beginning in 1937.  The "Allies" (UK, US, Soviet Union) eventually stopped the expansion by invasions of the "Axis" (Germany, Japan).
