I am Tom Butler. With my wife, I am a director of the [http://atransc.org/ Association TransCommunication (ATransC) (formally: American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena] (AA-EVP). Unless otherwise noted all of the text at this web site has been authored by myself or my wife. Together, we have written There is No Death and There are No Dead, AA-EVP Publishing, 2003, ISBN: 0-9727493-0-6.

My scholastic training is as a BS degree in electrical and electronic engineering. My corporate experience is in long-range strategic planning, network management systems planning, design, funding and deployment in the communications industry.
Pretty much all of my time is dedicated to the work of the [http://atransc.org ATransC], which is to study all things related to psi and possible survival of consciousness, public education and helping people who are doing the same. I my view, Citizendium has the potential of being an important means of mentoring an informed society by means of helpful but not dogmatic articles. However, I have major concerns preventing me from doing much more here at this time:
I am also a National Spiritualist Association of Churches (NSAC) ( See http://nsac.org) ordained  Minister, certified spiritual healer, and medium and a National Spiritualist Teacher--as is my wife. We are also past director of the NSAC Department of Phenomenal Evidence. See http://nsacphenomena.com, which we authored up to this year.
I have been trained in numerous other modalities of energy healing and mediumship.
I am past member of the Rosicrucian Order (http://www.rosicrucian.org/), Silva  Method (http://www.silvamethod.com/), Builders of the Adytum (http://www.bota.org/), Mensa (http://www.mensa.org/) and Eckankar (http://www.eckankar.org/?gclid=CLHb6OOtm4sCFSF5SAod4VVKSw). I have attended a number of courses in the Delphi University (http://www.delphi-center.com/index.html) and the Monroe Institute (http://www.monroeinstitute.com/).
I wrote the book, Handbook of Metaphysics ( ©Tom Butler 1994, Christopher Publishing House, Hanover, Mass. 02339.  ISBN: 0-8158-0485-7) and a number of novels. Some of my writing is at http://ethericreality.aaevp.com.
My current effort is the Etheric Studies Initiative, intended to establish a structure within which good science can be applied to the study of things etheric while allowing the survival hypothesis as one possible solution. See http://etheric-studies.aaevp.com. The AA-EVP is sponsoring it, but it will be a public body in the same sense that open standards committees are a public body.

I have no wish to promote anything here, only inform; however, if I am  only one of a few people working in the paranormal subgroup, then it will fail.
 
If you look at [http://atransc.org ATransC], it should be clear that I have been attempting to gather useful articles and references on these subjects since around 2000. Most of the ITC references have been generated by me as editor or for ATransC by others. For completeness, any Citizendium article on ITC will necessarily include references from atransc.org, and there is a potential conflict of interest for me to add those references.
 
For me to "speak freely," I will likely move future efforts to the [http://atransc.org/bp/Collective Collective] until others come to help here. Please consider pitching in.

To address the idea of conflict of interest, my wife and I maintain the ATransC is a nonprofit research and education organization which is in service to the paranormal community. It does not take precedence over that community and the good health of other organizations is as important to us.
 
Not being a detail person and needing to work full time while attending college, I made it through college by understanding the concepts. This has continued today, but with the engineering training and too many bad days briefing my bosses, I temper a conceptual focus with a desire for actionable results.
 
It is important that my contributions to articles are given a more modern bias, as I tend to be a little too abstract. Your help is appreciated.

Help

Pretty much all of my time is dedicated to the work of the ATransC, which is to study all things related to psi and possible survival of consciousness, public education and helping people who are doing the same.
