McMurdo Station is an American research station on Ross Island just across McMurdo Sound from the mainland of Antarctica, at 77 degrees 51 minutes S, 166 degrees 40 minutes E.[1][2][3]
McMurdo Station is the largest research station in Antartica.[1] McMurdo Station is the most Southerly place accessible by Sea. Researchers work at McMurdo Station year round.
