Tay Ninh is both the name of a province, and its capital, in the southernmost and western part of Vietnam. Cambodia forms its northern and western borders, while Long An Province is its southern border. To the east are Binh Phuoc Province, Binh Duong Province, and Ho Chi Minh city.
It is:
- 64 kilometres from Cu Chi
- 96 kilometres to the north-west of Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon
The main Cao Dai temple is in Tay Ninh.
Two of the first major "search and destroy" sweeps of the Vietnam War, Operation ATTLEBORO and Operation JUNCTION CITY, took place in the province.
