Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! D. Matt Innis 17:54, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Some ideas for contributions

Hi Maite,

thanks for joining us. Yes, contributing in a language other than the native one may be demanding at times, but fortunately, there are a number of things you can do here that do not require high proficiency in English, for example:

  1. Add images to articles;
  2. Help administer CZ:Article of the Week and Archive:New Draft of the Week;
  3. Think about how to structure CZ:Core Articles;
  4. Check out the pages we link from our Welcome page (especially in the left column) and see whether that information is helpful for people new to the project;
  5. Help with adding brief definitions to articles that have not yet got one (often you can find a suitable phrase in the first paragraph of an article);
  6. Participating in discussions on the Forum, which cover a wide range of issues of current relevance to the project.

I hope you will enjoy your time here, and in case of questions, just ask anyone you see on Recent Changes. --Daniel Mietchen 14:04, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
