Hi there. My name is David Nelsen-Epstein. I am a teacher and a filmmaker. I teach Film History and the History of World mass Communication at Dutchess Community College. I have a degree in Media Studies and Philosophy from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Masters in American Studies from the City University of New York. I am the co-founder of two educational Not-For-Profit organizations, the first one is called INDIE and it uses media technology to re-engage disengaged students in their studies. The Second one is called Homunculi Productions. It is a film Production Company that is populated entirely by teens. I am very interested in the intersection of film and culture. I am a firm believer that film both reflects current trends in society and helps to shape those trends.
