The Toronto Blue Jays are a Major League Baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The team was founded in 1977 as an expansion team in the American League. [1]
Championships
The team has had a total of 2 championship-winning seasons in the modern era (1901 and later) of major-league baseball, winning the World Series in 1992 and 1993. These are the only years they have appeared in the World Series.[2]
Locations
The team has been based in Toronto since its inception in 1977.
They have played their home games at the following stadiums:[3] Exhibition Stadium from 1977 through May 1989; and the SkyDome from June 1989 to the present. The SkyDome was renamed Rogers Centre starting with the 2005 season.
