I am interested in political issues, though generally from the comfort of an armchair, and most of my arguments seem to coincide with when I am under the influence of alcohol. I voted in the last election for the Green Party candidate in my constituency, and am a registered member of the Irish Green party. My commitment to tackling Climate Change and environmental issues, is again, sadly, tied to brief moments of aspirational conversation when under the influence of alcohol. I tend not to recycle or engage in any of the other traits one would associate with an environmentalist. In short order, I vote for the Greens as a result of a guilt complex due to my extraordinary laziness in terms of making an individual impact on the worlds environment.

My long term goal (Although again, it is important to seperate goal from aspiration) is the creation of a joke political party such as that in the UK (ie, The Raving Loony Party), where we would dress up in silly hats and campaign in important by-elections, poking fun at the political establishment.
To me, the little things in life that annoy us is what makes us the individuals we are:

#The people who dress up as St. Patrick and old Celtic Kings at rallys to save the Hill of Tara. This is an important issue, not some fancy dress party and its exactly these kind of immature people who make the job of defending the Hill all the harder for the rest of us!
#People who make you take your shoes off before entering their house.
#The vast majority, if not the entirety of 'demonstrators' at G8 summits. Your not doing you side of the fence many favours by just shouting and speaking like a group of illiterate rabble!
#People who deliberately walk slowly on a busy street... Why do you do it?

Just a reminder (above)

I am a student in Trinity College Dublin, in Second Year studying History. I am an all rounder with wide interests in history but no specific field of interest (Though I tend to look at history from a social and cultural perspective)

Pet Hates

To me, the little things in life that annoy us is what makes us the individuals we are:

  1. The people who dress up as St. Patrick and old Celtic Kings at rallys to save the Hill of Tara. This is an important issue, not some fancy dress party and its exactly these kind of immature people who make the job of defending the Hill all the harder for the rest of us!
  2. People who make you take your shoes off before entering their house.
  3. The vast majority, if not the entirety of 'demonstrators' at G8 summits. Your not doing you side of the fence many favours by just shouting and speaking like a group of illiterate rabble!
  4. People who deliberately walk slowly on a busy street... Why do you do it?
