The first Liberal government took power in 1873, under Prime Minister Alexander Mackenzie. Its current leader, elected Prime Minister in 2015, is Justin Trudeau.
Other Prime Ministers included Wilfred Laurier and the longest-serving PM, Mackenzie King.
