Welcome!
Welcome, new editor! We're very glad you've joined us. Here are pointers for a quick start. Also, when you get a chance, please read The Editor Role. You can look at Getting Started for other helpful introductory pages. It is essential for you as an editor to join the Citizendium-Editors (broadcast) mailing list in order to stay abreast of editor-related issues, as well as the mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. It is also important, for project-wide matters, to join the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and thank you! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise, and we hope to see your edits on Recent changes soon. David E. LAMP sheds much light
As a Computers Workgroup editor, let me thank you -- one of the many things we've needed.
I'm slightly inspired to risk linking the "top" of LAMP to web services, and even cloud computing, although I'm principally a network and security person. My applications work tends to be in medical and military, which I like to describe as life-critical and death-critical. Howard C. Berkowitz 19:05, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hey Howard, thought I'd get my feet wet with some simple technologies, glad you like it so far. Can definitely see the appeal of linking web services for people learning about networking, though maybe it could be in a spot that's closer to the source like web server? Then again, more links the better eh? Cloud computing is definitely a good idea though, maybe in a section about general uses for private and corporate; I'll work on it some more. I'm definitely one of those breach editors where my expertise comes from corporate, the money-critical. I can see what a busy bee you've been around here so I imagine we'll be working together a lot. I look forward to it! Lance Knifehand 21:00, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
Block cipher
One of your goals is to "Get more Computer articles through the approval process". Care to comment on this one, currently up for approval? Almost everything it links to needs comment as well. Sandy Harris 10:38, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
