:::Ideas -- does anybody have any real images of scientific data? Some kind of picture of real data might be helpful. Also, the example of Tycho Brahe building accurate data about planetary movements, then being used by Johannes Kepler to derive his laws. This is one example of one scientist using another's data. If there are other instances, let's include too in this article.--Thomas Wright Sulcer 09:57, 24 March 2010 (UTC) | :::Ideas -- does anybody have any real images of scientific data? ::::Kepler's use of Brahe's data is a good example, though I would suggest to leave the details to Kepler's laws and open data rather than adding them here. Images of data are ubiquitous. For example, the videos listed here all represent MRI data, and most of the images found by searching here or here depict data, though often in some processed form. I will look around for some images that both illustrate the core points correctly (such that scientists like it) but still look interesting and informative to the public. An example that I came across today which is already going in this direction is here. --Daniel Mietchen 10:52, 24 March 2010 (UTC) |

Daniel please see User talk:Thomas Wright Sulcer/sandbox7 I worked fast and don't know if I understand it fully and didn't check over the writing but there's material in this sandbox which you can use if interested. --Thomas Wright Sulcer 18:09, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Good start — thanks for chiming in! Still needs some brushing here and there but it's the right track. --Daniel Mietchen 01:44, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, hope it was helpful, I wrote it quickly. Also did Panton Arms as a feeder article. Also did a quick picture of "data" in the sandbox but don't know if its anything useful.--Thomas Wright Sulcer 02:20, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Ideas -- does anybody have any real images of scientific data? Some kind of picture of real data might be helpful. - Kepler's use of Brahe's data is a good example, though I would suggest to leave the details to Kepler's laws and open data rather than adding them here. --Daniel Mietchen 10:52, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
