Nullification?
Good start. At some point, could this deal with (or link to) the question of "jury nullification"? This is something I hear about moderately often, generally from far-right Americans. I suspect there is something to it, but it is not quite as central to the jury system as they paint it.
The basic notion is that a jury can, indeed has a duty to, refuse to convict on a bad law, even when the evidence and perhaps the judge's instructions point the other way. For example, a jury might simply refuse to convict on a marijuana offence, because they felt that it was a bogus law. Sandy Harris 01:07, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
