Windows 2000 is a unsupported[1] version of Microsoft Windows intended for businesses, released in 2000 (although it reached maturity in 1999). It was the basis for Windows XP, released 1 year after Windows 2000. Windows ME, released only a few months after Windows 2000, was for the home, but Windows ME had features from 2000.
