Puff adder is a common name that can be used to refer to any of the following snakes:
- Bitis arietans - A venomous snake species found in Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula.[1]
- Bitis - Any other member of the same genus[1] (14 species are currently recognized).[2]
- Heterodon platirhinos - A harmless North American colubrid.[3]
