I live in the vicinity and although I can't find an online reference to prove it, this is how it happened for sure, that the "Trenton Makes The World Takes" slogan letters were only correctly lit just before Trump visited, one surmises at the request of then NJ governor [[Chris Christy]].  Everyone was commenting and laughing about it.  The sign with the burnt-out letters had looked sick for years, but only a Donald Trump visit stirred the powers that be enough to get it fixed. ~~~~
