Nangarhār, whose capital is Jalalabad, is a province in the east of Afghanistan and has a border with Pakistan. The province is noted for its agriculture, especially fruit and nut production. It is traversed by the country's Highway One from the Pakistan border through Jalalabad to Kabul.
