'I'm Gonna Crawl' is a song on English Rock music|rock band Led Zeppelin's 1979 album, In Through the Out Door. It was composed by John Paul Jones (musician)|John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. OverviewA conscious attempt to capture the slow American Soul music|soul-blues style of the 1960s, the music to 'I'm Gonna Crawl' was in large part composed by Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones (musician)|John Paul Jones.[1] The song tells of a girl that 'drives me crazy... she's the apple of my eye. I love the lady. I got to be her fool.' The strings were created by Jones using a Yamaha GX-1 synthesizer, purchased specifically for this album. 'I'm Gonna Crawl' was never performed live at Led Zeppelin concerts,[2] Drumkit|drummer John Bonham noted this as one of Plant's best vocal performances. Credits
