I am an Assistant Professor of philosophy at Longwood University, where I teach courses in ethics and ancient philosophy.

In December 2003, I successfully defended my dissertation - Forms of Goodness: The Nature and Value of Virtue in Socratic Ethics - at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I officially received a Ph.D. in philosophy there in May 2004.

Since then, I have published "Virtue as the Sole Intrinsic Good in Plato's Early Dialogues". It is the lead article in the journal Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy, vol. 28 (Summer 2005).

I presented a paper titled "Was Socrates a Mystic?" at the May 2006 meeting of Philosophy for All Fargo-Moorhead. I am currently preparing the paper for publication.

I have competence in reading ancient Greek, and have completed English translations of Plato's Apology of Socrates, Crito, and Meno. I would like one day to prepare these for publication.
