Asian name?

Why this name sounds so Asian (I mean, either Chinese or Korean)? Yi Zhe Wu 18:35, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

I dunno. It's a very common Tahitian word, which is a Polynesian language akin to Hawaiian or Maori. I think that if you check the Wikipedia article on Mai tai (cocktail) you will find some other listings -- some of them may have Asian connotations. Hayford Peirce 19:05, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
