Ideal body weight (IBW) can be estimated as:

Males:

${\text{50 kg}}+{\text{2.3 kg}}\times ({\text{height in inches}}-60)$

Females:

${\text{45.5 kg}}+{\text{2.3 kg}}\times ({\text{height in inches}}-60)$

The adjusted body weight (ABW) is calculated from the actual body weight (ACT):

${\text{ABW}}={\text{IBW}}+(0.4\times ({\text{ACT}}-{\text{IBW}})$
