The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a problem solving framework used in decision making and similar applications. It incorporates a systematic process for representing the elements of a problem, for relating those elements to overall goals, and for choosing among alternative solutions.

While it can be used by individuals in solving relatively straightforward problems, it is best suited to situations where groups of people are dealing with highly complex problems.

Understanding of AHP is considered to be an essential part of the education of an MBA.
