OmegaT+[1] is a software project that provides a set of Computer Assisted Translation(CAT) tools. These tools are intended for use by translators, localization engineers, and other language professionals. The project itself is primarily hosted on SourceForge[2] and so all the provided applications are free software (also known as open source software(OSS)) released under associated licenses.

The OmegaT+ project currently provides the following applications:

  • bitext2tmx[3]: bitext aligner
  • bitextor: webpage/bitext creator
  • OmegaT+: translation processor
  • omegat: translation processor
  • PDFedit: PDF editor
  • pdftk: PDF toolkit
  • Tag Aligner: webpage/bitext aligner
  • Validator: TMX validator

Note that there is an application in the project with the same name as the project itself. Also, the OmegaT+ application was initially named omegat and this older version is still available on the project.

The name of the project and the same named application reflect the fact that the project was initially started by creating a branch/forked version of the OmegaT [4] application and that this application is the main work product of the project.
