Cyclooxygenase inhibitor

In pharmacology, cyclooxygenase inhibitors are "compounds or agents that combine with cyclooxygenase (prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthases) and thereby prevent its substrate-enzyme combination with arachidonic acid and the formation of eicosanoids, prostaglandins, and thromboxanes."
