Aspen Matis is an American writer.
Amy Kaufman, who interviewed Matis for the Los Angeles Times, noted that Matis's 2015 book, The Girl in the Woods, about hiking the long and arduous Pacific Crest Trail, described her 2009 journey, taken four years before the publication of Cheryl Strayed, 2013 account Wild.[1] Kaufman wrote "getting literary agents to view the book as anything more than “Wild” 2.0 was a challenge."
