'Ozone Baby' is a song by English rock group Led Zeppelin.
Overview
The song had been recorded at Polar Studios in Stockholm, Sweden during the sessions for the band's final studio album In Through the Out Door on 14 November 1978 but it was decided to leave the song off the resultant album. After the death of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham in 1980, the band released an album of studio outtakes in 1982 entitled Coda, and this song was included on it. It was one of three songs recorded at Polar Studios which were omitted from In Through the Out Door and later released on Coda, the other two being 'Wearing and Tearing' and 'Darlene'.[1]
'Ozone Baby' is a straightforward, up-tempo rock song, featuring some harmonised vocal effects from singer Robert Plant.[2] Few Led Zeppelin studio songs included harmonised vocal effects, but it had been increasingly utilised by Plant in live performances from 1977 onwards. Despite this, 'Ozone Baby' itself was never performed live at Led Zeppelin concerts.[3]
