Controversy
Extramarital affair scandal
Ong Kim Huat resigned his Bukit Batok MP position and left the PAP in 2016 due to an extramarital affair incident with a female grassroots leader in Bukit Batok SMC. Wendy Lim, the mistress of Ong, works in a logistics firm and was the PAP member and PAP Women's Wing member at the time. She is married and has children. She also had been participating in grassroots activities in Bukit Batok and supported PAP during last September's general election campaign. Channel News Asia reported that their extramarital affair is believed to have lasted for at least six months and uncovered after the Lim's husband complained to PAP.
Impact
After Ong had resigned, an election was held (2016 Bukit Batok by-election) to elect a new Bukit Batok MP.[1][2]

Ong is married with three children.[3]
