Port Hardy is a community of 5,000 people at the northern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It is named after Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, Horation Nelson's flag-Captain at the Battle of Trafalgar.[1] The port is the southern terminus for BC Ferries routes to Prince Rupert, just south of the Alaska panhandle, and the coastal communities of Bella Bella, Shearwater, Klemtu and Bella Coola.[2]
