Diacritics
That's interesting about Wikipedian diacritics warring. Does it only concern Vietnamese? Ro Thorpe 18:42, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- No, the focus of the dispute is on the names of tennis and hockey players from Eastern Europe. I wrote only a few posts on this subject, but they were apparently enough to attract attention. When Jenks24 unblocked me, I had defied the Wikipedia system. There was a wave of indignation that lasted for weeks. Pro-diacritics editors suddenly started taking an interest in Vietnam. The Vietnam project had not been a very active one, and it was basically my little pond up to that point. So "Han-Nom" is very much off the beaten track as far as controversial subject matter goes. My banning this year triggered a chain reaction with hundreds of articles moving, both Vietnamese and otherwise. Peter Kauffner 21:42, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
