Lind didn't discover the cause of scurvy — the link with vitamin C was not made until the 1930s — but he did find the cure (although work by Johann Backstrom in the 1730s posited a link between scurvy and a lack of fresh vegetables in the diet. David H. Barrett 22:42, 23 August 2008 (CDT)
