Chu Huy Man (1920-) was a general of the People's Army of Viet Nam and later a member of the Politburo, removed in 1986. He had been named to the Politburo sometime after the Fifth Party Congress in 1982, from his position of chief political oficer for the Army. His removal was reported to be due to an autocratic style. [1]

Close to Vo Nguyen Giap, he was the first division-level commander, in overall charge of the offensive that included the Battle of the Ia Drang and the Battle of Bong Son. In 2008, he discussed the battles extensively with one of his American opponents, retired lieutenant general Hal Moore. [2]
