Short biography
Graduated in pedagogy at the São Paulo University (1969), Master in Semiotics at the University of Paris -Sorbonne- (1974) and PhD in Public Health at the São Paulo University (1990). Since 2000, Fernando Lefèvre has been a full professor at the University of São Paulo and from 2005 up till now, he has been an advisor of the Research Institute "O Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo®" or "The Collective Discourse®".
He has experience in Public Health, main emphasis on qualitative research, social representation, social communication related to heath issues and qualitative methodology.
Together with his wife Ana Maria Cavalcanti Lefèvre, he is the creator of a technique, called "O Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo®" or "The Collective Discourse®", that helps researches in processing qualitative data on opinion polls. He has also developed the software Qualiquantisoft®. Both the technique and the software were created in partnership with the São Paulo University.
