Degrassi Junior High

Degrassi Junior High was a Canadian television series produced from 1987-1989. The series depicted many difficult issues and was noted for its realistic and sensitive treatment of issues such as drug abuse, child abuse, and teenage pregnancy. The cast selected for Degrassi Junior High were mostly non-professional actors.

In 1987 the series won an International Emmy award in the Children and Young People category for the episode "It's Late", in which a character discovered she was pregnant.
