MIL-STD-1760

MIL-STD-1760 is a U.S. military standard, also designated as NATO Standardization Agreement STANAG 3838, for the mechanical and electrical interface between individual air-dropped weapons and the carrying aircraft. It assigns MIL-STD-1553 shared bus interface addresses to the weapon; the MIL-STD-1553 data bus is used to transfer detailed guidance and other information. The interface is used by a number of countries that buy U.S. weapons or develop compatible ones.

Its connectors are defined as "breakaway", and it gives the controlling aircraft a firm indication when the weapon is dropped. In MIL-STD-1553 terms, a MIL-STD-1760 interface is a "remote terminal" (RT).
