Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud died June 16, 2012, in Geneva, Switzerland. He was 78. Some sources state he was in Switzerland receiving medical treatment. The official comment from King Abdullah said he died “outside the kingdom”. Prince Nayef was buried at Mecca, Saudi Arabia.[1][2]

Prince Nayef was a conservative who worked to stamp out Islamic militants in a three-year campaign between 2003 and 2006.[3]
