My attempt at making a table was a total disaster... Could someone fix it please? I am scaringly technophobic when it comes to things like these! Denis Cavanagh 11:17, 22 August 2007 (CDT)
- Wikitables are indeed a pain. Still much better than drawing them in Word and importing the HTML to CZ, though, which can be a nightmare!. I'll have a go tomorrow when I've more time, but what I was intending was a list of counties in a column, with former names (if any), county town, province and possibly traditional colours. Comprehensive, if ambitious! Anton Sweeney 11:25, 22 August 2007 (CDT)
Hey, the table is looking pretty good! One thing though, was Limerick not known as 'Thomond?'
- 'Twas - added now :-) Anton Sweeney 06:51, 23 August 2007 (CDT)
Next bit to do is write about the administrative breakdown for local government - NI counties having no official status; splitting of Tipperary, abolition of County Dublin, creation of Fingal, Dun Laogaire-Rathdown, South Dublin; city status equivalent to county council status; and add a table with the resulting 34 administrative areas of the RoI. Anton Sweeney 08:24, 23 August 2007 (CDT)
- I never truly paid any attention to the splitting up of Dublin. Does it now in reality mean that we are a 34 county island? Denis Cavanagh 08:45, 23 August 2007 (CDT)
- Well, technically we've now got 29 counties in the Republic of Ireland - or 34 administrative areas, as the cities are equivalent. :-) Anton Sweeney 09:26, 23 August 2007 (CDT)
