Request for hat pictures!
If you got 'em, let's have 'em! It would be great to have different CZ users with hats on to better illustrate the article. --Robert W King 20:45, 18 October 2007 (CDT)
- Robert - I have Beret on there now... I wasn't sure what kind of layout you wanted to do with all the hat pictures, so I guessed. Feel free to play around with the layout because I don't know if the way Hat looks now is the best way to do it Eric M Gearhart
- I'm between playing with it and trying to get the bot to write a file with a timestamp. I should get a photo up soon. --Robert W King 22:16, 24 October 2007 (CDT)
- I got my SO to model some of his hats. Photos here, use or ignore as you like. Petréa Mitchell 21:31, 28 October 2007 (CDT)
Hat catalog
This article, a list of hat types, is basically what should go under Hat/Catalogs or even Hat/Catalogs/Types. The hat article should be a narrative on hats. It's easy to list types of hats, but it's hard (without research) to actually write a narrative about hats--but it's only the latter which counts as an encyclopedia article. --Larry Sanger 09:33, 30 October 2007 (CDT)
- You're right, and I knowingly put the content here until a real encyclopedic entry about hats could be written. --Robert W King 09:43, 30 October 2007 (CDT)
An Ushanka vs A Ushanka
I think it's "A ushanka" because even though it starts with a vowel, the sound is not a vowel sound; it's a "yew" phoenetic in front versus say, "umbrella" which starts with "ahm". It's also like the word "unicycle". --Robert W King 11:03, 18 December 2007 (CST)
- I've never heard it pronounced actually, & I can't recall where I 'researched' it, but clearly you know so I shall revert accordingly - Ro Thorpe 17:41, 18 December 2007 (CST)
- But it seems I was right after all. See WP article, which gives the phonetics & the Russian. - Ro Thorpe 17:56, 18 December 2007 (CST)
