Capitalization and etymology?

I'm curious -- should "quine" be capitalized or not? The article is inconsistent on this point. Does the term come from somebody's name, or from some other source? I'd heard of the concept but never heard the word for it before. Bruce M.Tindall 16:11, 12 May 2008 (CDT)

Yes, it comes from the name of the great philosopher Willard van Orman Quine. I found this after wanting to create an article about W.V.O. Quine, only to find this here. I think that we should probably move this to 'Quine (computing)', then have an article on Quine (the philosopher) at 'Willard van Orman Quine' and then either have this redirect to the article on the philosopher, which would then have a disambiguation link to Quine (computing), or have a disambiguation page. As for quines, I rather like these Ruby quines. Ooh, that's a trippy thought: imagine if W.V.O. Quine were still alive, and needed to use a programming language, which would he choose? --Tom Morris 07:21, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
