I retired from business five years ago and took the opportunity to develop a long-time interest in history. Consequently, I undertook a four-year B.A. honors degree in history in Trinity College, Dublin, and graduated last year. My main areas of interest have been medieval, modern, and contemporary Irish history, and I am currently engaged in researching for an M.Litt/probationary PhD degree on an aspect of contemporary Irish history.
