Gary Day is a principal lecturer in literature at De Montfort University in Leicester, England and is a member of the Royal Society of Arts. He is the the author of Re-Reading Leavis (1996), Class, (2001), Literary Criticism: A New History (2008) and the forthcoming Modernism: 1890-1950. He has also edited The Handbook to Eighteenth Century Literature with Bridget Keegan and he is the joint editor, with Jack Lynch of The Wiley Encyclopdia of Eighteenth Century Literature.
