Dr. Boyd has experience as a field forester, systems analyst/programmer, teacher, and tree farm manager. As Senior Vice President, Timber for a Fortune 500 Forest Products Company he was responsible for all operations related to the management of a large industrial forest land ownership; for fiber supply to a large pulp mill and for the operation of a medium sized sawmill. He has held positions with the US Forest Service, worked as a Consulting Forester, and taught at the Community College and University levels. He has been recognized for his work on the boards of several Forestry Industry Associations and was very active in the development of a new model for Forest Practice Regulations in Washington State. He earned a PhD from the University of Washington, School for Forestry; a Master of Forestry from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from the University of Arkansas. He is recognized by the Society of American Foresters as a Certified Forester (CF).
