After graduating from Gonzaga University in 1974 with a B.A. (major in History with a major concentration on early American and Classical and a minor concentration on philosophy), I continued in the graduate program. From 1978 through 2001 I served on the faculty of two different preparatory schools in Washington State -- Eastside Catholic High School and Bellarmine Preparatory School -- where I taught World History and Cultures (standard and honors levels), United States History (standard, honors and advanced placement levels), European History (advanced placement), Asian Studies (standard level), and American Government (standard level).

In 2001 I left the educational world to work at Microsoft Corporation as a corporate training expert. While there I developed skills in online learning (e-learning) and directed several projects geared toward internal (employee) education. Currently I work as the Director of Education Services for PivotLink Corporation, a business intelligence software firm located in the Seattle area.

My main academic project at this time is the development of a Web site that will assist students in their study of history (www.myhistorytutor.net). I am currently developing the United States History portion of the site, and eventually will add sections on world history, American government, and study skills. During my research for and development of this site, I encountered Citizendium and realized it would be a good match with my background and skill set. As I complete sections of my Web site, I hope to both reference Citizendium and contribute information.
