Thanks for the welcome. I can assure you that I have much to contribute, especially now that I don't have to deal with all the lunatics any more.--David Otto 11:44, 25 November 2006 (CST)
Approval assistance
Hello Sarah. Could you take a look at the Chiropractic article and help us with the Approval process? Larry is out of town and asked that we work through it on our own. We have the three editor agreement and have had it labeled with the ToApprove template since 12/23/2006, so all we need is someone to do the actual Approval! This is still a learning process for me, but I'm sure I'll have it down to an art soon;) Thanks! --Matt Innis (Talk) 13:00, 28 December 2006 (CST)
Thanks Sarah!!! I hope you know that now that I know you can do this... :) Let's just say, it's good to know ya! --Matt Innis (Talk) 08:28, 29 December 2006 (CST)
Metabolism
Oops,... The images do not come through because thyy are images left from th WP version, and those have not been uploaded yet. Is that a problem? Pedro Silva 06:49, 29 December 2006 (CST)
- Update: (copied from Nancy's page)
Hi, Nancy! Since the images in the Metabolism article were not coming through, I uploaded one of them from WP, and drew the other one from scratch (the WP image seemed too basic...). Please check if the article can be approved with those images. Thanks!! Pedro Silva 07:45, 29 December 2006 (CST) The WP image is public domain. the other is mine... No rights reserved :-) Pedro Silva 09:32, 29 December 2006 (CST)
I think metabalism has 3-4 biology editors voting yes. Thanks for your note, Sarah. Bring out the wand! Nancy Sculerati MD 16:19, 4 January 2007 (CST)
Sorry to bother you, but the Metabolism article still has the standard disclaimer , even though it is marked "Approved" :-( Pedro Silva 06:34, 12 January 2007 (CST)
Thanks for the welcome. I honestly don't know how much time I'll have to contribute, but I suspect any time spent will be somewhat more satisfying than it ended up on WP. Ian Cundell 16:06, 21 January 2007 (CST)

Attention! Approved articles are no longer protected
At least "Metabolism" can be changed :-( Pedro Silva 16:01, 22 January 2007 (CST)
Greg, one of our tech guys, is working on the approval code. Let's wait for a report from him... --Larry Sanger 16:09, 22 January 2007 (CST)
Wikipedia credit on ":Amber Neben" article
Could someone please remove the Wikipedia credit on the Amber Neben article? It is not necessary for the reasons explained below.
The Amber Neben article was written by myself and first posted to Wikipedia. However, all of the copyrightable content is my own. Additions to the WP article made since its original posting were of a purely technical nature (spelling corrections, category stuff, formatting) which have either already been removed or are not copyrightable. Hello
Hello Sarah, Zachary (on the forums) mentioned that you are amongst one of the few younger users of CZ, so I thought I'd drop by and say hi. ;) Yim Kai-mun 10.26, 31 January 2007 (SGT)

Tendentious editing
Hello - I finally joined after tendentious editing at Wikipedia got too much. First question, how is that issue dealt with here? Everyone at the 'other place' agrees that the problem is not so much the obvious trolls, but the ones who stick by the rules, just, but make life painful for other editors by repetitive questions, tendentious editing, filling up talk pages with nonsense, Wikilawyering the most obvious points.
Is there anything like a 'moderator' function here? I.e. the power to terminate protracted threads or 'calling time' when the discussion is not fulfilling the purpose of getting the article written? Edward buckner 02:41, 13 February 2007 (CST)
PS I have sent this message round to other constables, and already it seems you probably haven't had any problems. That is encouraging.Edward buckner 02:41, 13 February 2007 (CST)
- PPS thanks for your note. Actually I answered my own question. There are some definite bits of policy that seem to do the job I was looking for. Rather than repeat myself, I left a message on Larry's talk page that explains the bits of policy. On another subject, I checked out the user contributions for all the editors, and many of them stop before January. Thus, it seems a bit quiet round here. What was your experience? Astronomy High Priority articles
I noticed that some of the articles on the Astronomy Workgroup page which should be deleted are not being marked for deletion. When the BSD is over, there should be only 6 "live" articles (blue links) on that page: Astronomy, Galaxy, Tycho Brahe, Spectroscopy, Mars, NASA. All of the other blue linked articles should be deleted (meaning, delete the article, not the link in the list on the Astronomy WG home page - they will still be listed, only with red links). Wait for the BSD to finish, though.
The problem is that I went through them a couple of weeks back and did some clean-up work (rm interwikis, etc). That should not count as substantive editing, but some markers are not picking that up. The Venus article is an example of one which should have been marked and deleted. The articles which need to be deleted were brought over from Wikipedia 3 months ago and have had no substantive work on them since. James F. Perry 18:48, 19 February 2007 (CST)
Changing user rights
...isn't necessary, is it, anymore? I think when you create an account it automatically has "wikieditor" permissions. --Larry Sanger 12:46, 22 February 2007 (CST)
Deletion request
Hello Sarah! I've uploaded some NASA images for the live article galaxy. One image I had to load up twice, because the first time some accident lead to an extreme long file name, I'm sorry. I'am talking about that file. Could you please delete it? Thank you, greetings from Munich --Sebastian Breitschafter 16:12, 22 February 2007 (CST)
Wikipedia articles
I am in the process of importing articles written by me from WP to CZ. I gather I am required to tag them as coming from WP. But now I see that it is CZ policy to delete articles coming unaltered from WP. So I will no longer tag them as WP articles. There seems to be some contradiction here. Adam Carr 07:01, 25 February 2007 (CST)
I have imported several more of my WP articles (see my User page), but I have not tagged them as coming from WP, otherwise they will be deleted. This policy makes no sense and this problem needs to be solved. Adam Carr 06:30, 26 February 2007 (CST)

Hello Sarah! I want to inform you that I have sendt you an email about things going on concerning a German CZ. Just to to make sure you got the mail. --Sebastian Breitschafter 15:12, 26 February 2007 (CST)
template for workgroup education
Do you think it will be useful for people who are actively writing but have not joined a workgroup or are not adding workgroup categories to articles? We could place this on certain people's usert talk pages. Feel free to edit it and please make a comment on the talk page if you are able. http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Template:Workgroup_introduction -Tom Kelly (Talk) 21:56, 31 March 2007 (CDT)
Christo is the author. I have acted only as editor and my say so should be enough. From the beginning of the talk page, I have stated my role as editor. I have not made a single change in the article, except as an editor- rewording according to comments. The reason that Biology and Life needed 3 editors is because the biology editors acted as authors. In Christo's case, he has been the sole author. Do you have access to ichat? We could talk, if what I've written isn't clear. Stephen Ewen is not a health sciences editor. Nancy Sculerati 09:43, 22 April 2007 (CDT)
Infant Colic
Sarah, would you kindly indicate that I nominate Infant Colic for approval with a 48 hour timing? Thanks, Nancy Sculerati 06:36, 20 April 2007 (CDT)
Hey Fairygodmother - Wave the wand over Infant colic please. Thanks, Nancy Sculerati 08:02, 22 April 2007 (CDT)

Thanks, sarah. I just e-mailed Gareth, who is away. It's complicated, and we do want justice and also good articles. In that article, I acted as Editor in the same way I would act as editor in a peer reviewed journal, I commented until we had reached nomination for approval- at that point I fielded comments from the wiki, after posting a notice on the Board asking for them. I actually wrote up a job description for myself (which you will be reviewing on the exec list) to be an official editor whose job is to co-ordinate this kind of thing. If you ever have the time, you might look at the Tux and Life talk pages to see some recent problems that have been encountered. I'm glad that we are not approving bad articles, and that is something to be proud of, but especially since an approved article is just a stable version - there has got to be better ways to copyedit and do the mechanical approval process.Anyway, thanks again.Nancy Sculerati 10:27, 22 April 2007 (CDT)
Literature
Sarah, Margaret Maddox has just nominated Literature for approval in 1 week. She did not sign with the tildes (this was her very first edit on the wiki)-she typed out her name, but you cxan see from the history of the page that she indeed did write out the nominating post. Could you kindly do the template honors? Nancy Sculerati 18:22, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

Where do I ask questions? Are any vector-based image formats supported that I may upload?(wmf, sxd, etc). Daniel Demaret 03:32, 11 May 2007 (CDT)
Assistance at Tom Dula
Could you take a look at this page? I imported it from Wikipedia. I wrote it all, and there have been only minor tweaks from other editors. I wasn't certain if I needed to have wholesale changes, per policy, since I am the sole author from WP. Kevin Scott Bailey 15:57, 30 November 2007 (CST)
- Thanks for your response. I'm going to join the history workgroup, and I'll submit the article to them soon. I've recently come upon some information that will change the slightly pro-Dula tone of the article quite a bit, so there is some reworking yet to do. I appreciate the guidance you gave, regarding the policy about WP content, as I was unclear how it worked. It was greatly appreciated. Kevin Scott Bailey 15:48, 5 December 2007 (CST)
Just to say hello
I was recently granted membership to Citizendium, and I just wanted to say hello. I've already added first draft articles for German Shepherd Dog and White German Shepherd Dog. I have several more articles I want to add in dog breed, genetic and also Computer Science categories. I've had very bad experiences contributing to wiki, but I look forward to contributing on Citizendium.... --Michael Handley 16:57, 4 December 2007 (CST)
