First off I have to admit that I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here.
I'd also like to point out that before you look at what I suggest below, that this same knowledge will solve the subpages display issue. Unfortunately I'm getting ready to drive down to chesapeake for the day so I can't elaborate further until tomorrow.
- One: In the one to the right I notice you have a </p></div> that probably either doesn't belong or is in the wrong place.
- Two: There's something not right in the document image placement. See http://www.w3schools.com/css/pr_class_display.asp for reference. You probably need to set the display element style type. Also, resize the width of the browser window and observe what happens(350 and 100px examples):
