Tallong Apple Festival
The annual Tallong Apple Festival began in 2005 under the auspices of the Tallong Community Focus Group as Tallong Apple Day, a family day out. Since then it has grown astronomically; in 2005 there were 18 stalls and a couple of hundred local attendees. In 2009 the festival began on 1st May with the first annual Apple Festival Dance, which turned a profit, and concluded on Sunday, 3rd May, Apple Day, a full fair with 40 market stalls, a food court and attendees from as far away as Western Australia. The baking competition was expanded, and a photography competition inaugurated. [1]
